It’s a New Year, and it’s off to a bang with fresh new wedding trends to delight and inspire. These beautiful styles have sparked our creativity and ignited our motivation to create unique events in 2015.

GOD SAVE THE QUEEN….OR DUCHESS

One of my favorite wedding styles this year is inspired by Kate Middleton and my favorite show, Downton Abbey. Tables should be left bare and made out of a polished wood. Greenery runs down the middle of the table and is used in place of the common fabric runners we have seen in the past. Flowers hanging overhead in the place of chandeliers bring to mind lush gardens in Great Britain. Fresh florals can adorn furniture and are beautifully arranged on the tablescape to draw your eye. The perfect style for an outdoor wedding or a classy afternoon tea.

MIXED METALS

For years we have been told to pick a metal. There is Silver, platinum, gold, rose gold, gunmetal ETC. Pick one - but just one - because they don’t mix?!? Finally we are given the green light to mix away! Mixed metals are so in right now, and I am loving every minute of it. From wedding dresses and jewelry down to every detail of décor, mixing the different types of metals can be visually stunning while adding a bit of spunk.

ELEGANCE WITH FLAIR

This year brides are returning to Elegance, but adding some fun and sparkly touches along the way. Weddings in big ballrooms with gorgeous candelabras and grand floral arrangements are abundant in 2015 weddings. Dramatic and rich tasting cakes compete as the focal point with other glitzy details. Champagne tower anyone? Think Gatsby, outdoors at twilight on a beautiful Garden terrace.

Hello! Welcome to Leslie Dawn Events! We are thrilled you stumbled across our site and platform for sharing all of our artistic endeavors.

I enjoy everything that sparks creativity, awakens our senses, and provokes exploration. To me, fall encompasses all of this inspiration so it only seemed fitting that I begin this new Journey with you right in the midst of autumn.

As a kid, I was filled with excitement each year when October rolled around. It was the anticipation of Halloween approaching which meant elaborate parties, dressing up in costume, delicious seasonal food, and fun times with friends and family. As the weather started to chill, there was often a crisp sweet pumpkin smell to the air.  The perfectly placed decorations looked like a scene from a movie and were the closest form of Magic I could imagine. Even as a young girl I was aware of the excitement that these Autumn get-together events brought, and the enjoyment that was felt by everyone who attended. It was where imagination surfaced and memories were created. It was these moments that truly inspired me to be an Event Planner. Nothing compares to the smiles you see on the bride and groom's faces when they walk into their venue and see that their vision for the big day has come to life down to every last detail. Planning a wedding or an event brings the same excitement I felt each fall as a young girl into my life every single day.

These once-in-a-lifetime moments are where memories are made, and celebrations are shared. I am grateful for the opportunity I have had to witness these incredible days that will be cherished for years to come and I am anxiously awaiting all the adventures on the horizon for Leslie Dawn Events!
